I had trouble identifying the small black beetles infesting my lawn. I've had them for years. I think they are billbugs which can damage the lawn, can be prevalent in bermudagrass and are hard to get rid of. I tried OrthoMax which didn't hardly help at all. Then I tried Diatamaceous Earth as a natural insecticide which also didn't work. Two days ago I used the Bayer Advanced Complete and they are dead. I figure I'll need to treat my lawn again and maybe again in spring to fully get rid of them, but I like the fact the grass absorbs one of the insectides in the roots where the bugs feed to keep them gone as eggs hatch. The other compound kills on contact for fast acting riddance. I rarely use chemicals for bugs or cleaning, but I needed to this time.
I had a bit of difficulty figuring out how to mix the concentrate in my "water hose end sprayer" - a Gilmour 20 gallon Lawn Sprayer, at a rate of 3 oz. per gallon. Bayer should make this at a higher concentration. It may be less expensive to buy professional Merit and Tempo products - these are the two chemicals in the Bayer Advanced Complete Lawn Insecticide, and I don't know if they sell them premixed in any other pro product. Your probably better off buying the stuff in the sprayer though it costs a little more.
Note: it should not be used on fruits and vegetables, but the label does not state how long after spraying it would be safe to plant - I plan on buying new soil for my winter garden anyways.
Unfortunately, Amazon's pricing (with the shipping) is considerably higher than my local Home Depot (even with our 10% sales tax).
Every product I have bought is full of chemicals that burns my eyes but never gets the job done cheap as its made so it makes the 50 dollar roundup makes sense, how lowes could not keep the soap that works on plants in stock makes you think I hope
