It looks like a sports racquet but is actually an effective way to kill flies, mosquitoes and other pesky bugs (and at the same time work on your tennis serve). A three-grid system is strung within the racquet head; when the middle and one of the outer grids comes in contact with an insect, it kills it instantly. I have to take exception with the other review. I bought two of these and they simply do not work. The problem is there is a protective, non-electrified grid on each side of the electrified grid. This means you somehow have to get the bug to touch the middle grid for it to work. Most of the time the bug simply bounces off the non-electrified grids and flies away. Save your money.
I have the "Racquet Zapper" brand shown on this link. I was given this as a gift 6 years ago and let it sit for a year, figuring it just as a novelty. Then I decided to give it a try, and have been using it ever since: 5 years and still going strong. We have a lot of flies, and it is very effective. I change the batteries (rechargeable) about once a year at most, just out of habit. I probably toast about 30 flies each summer with it. They give a loud SNAP and spark: you may (guys) or may not (gals) enjoy this. Swing it over landed flies or hold it over flies on a window and they just fly into it. Half the time I hunt them down and take them out in flight.
